Eastern Plumas Health Care is a small, non-profit, critical access hospital, providing comprehensive medical services to Plumas County since 1971. We operate an acute care hospital at our main Portola campus, which includes a 24-hour, physician staffed, emergency room and ambulance service. In addition, four primary care medical clinics and a dental clinic offer residents a full spectrum of health care services in the Graeagle, Greenville, Loyalton, and Portola communities. There are also hospital-based Skilled Nursing Facilities in Portola and Loyalton.

Pay Rate: $19.57 to $21.83/hour DOE

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Rehab Registration Clerk will report directly to the Therapy and Wellness Center Office Manager

Essential Functions:

· Scheduling patient appointments

· Checking patients in and out of appointments

· Answering incoming phone calls

· Verifying patients' insurance and coverage

· Collecting co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles

· Verify patient demographics

· Utilize the Electronic Health Record Software

· Maintain Department filing system

· Contacting Physician offices to obtain records

· Maintain inventory of Front office supplies

· Perform Rehab Tech duties as needed, including: cleaning, organizing rehab gym, assisting in patient treatment

Skills/Abilities

· Proficient in the English Language and the ability to clearly communicate to callers, visitors, patients and staff.

· Ability to operate basic office equipment; computer, fax, printer, scanner, etc.

· Ability to multi-task and complete tasks on time.

· Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism.

· Reliable and Punctual

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Ability to interact directly with the public, medical professionals and other staff members on a daily basis

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Customer service experience

· Medical office experience preferred

· Ability to communicate efficiently, both verbally and in writing

· Excellent phone etiquette

· Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy

· Aptitude for learning computer software

· BLS, CPR and AED certification. This can be completed during initial employment
