Job Description

Job Purpose:

- The Engineering Supervisor at Eastern Plumas Health Care District is responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering department to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of all facilities and equipment. This role is critical in ensuring that the healthcare environment is safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations, thereby supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.


This is a full-time benefited position. Wage Scale $30-$32 DOE


Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff, providing direction, training, and performance evaluations.

- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure the reliability and safety of all healthcare facilities and equipment.

- Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute engineering projects, ensuring minimal disruption to healthcare services.

- Monitor and manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.

- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to healthcare facilities and engineering practices.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to oversee major repairs, installations, and upgrades.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of all engineering activities, including maintenance logs, safety reports, and project plans.

- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering department.

- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing technical expertise and leadership to resolve issues swiftly and safely.

- Will rotate on-call with Engineer and work at any and all Eastern Plumas Health Care facilities.

Required Education:

- High school graduate or equivalent of four (4) years stationary engineering apprenticeship or four (4) year's experience in the building trade. This is to include but is not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, steam system, pneumatic system and compressed gases refrigeration system.

Required Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

- Proven track record of managing engineering projects within a healthcare setting or similar industry.

- Experience in developing and implementing engineering processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of engineers.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

- Proficient in using engineering software and tools relevant to the healthcare industry.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements within the healthcare sector.
